The song of duality

In duality,

There is always going to be limitations but they are not there to stop you..

There will be imperfections but it doesn't mean that you are incomplete

There will be pain but it doesn't mean that you will remain hurt

When there is togetherness, there is also going to be separation

So rain or sunshine
Hear the song of life
and see its beauty
Be the love that you can

Unstoppable

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass
It's about learning to dance in the rain

Even the bravest of creatures have some fears, but it is not enough to stop them from moving in the path they are destined to walk upon

You are confined only by the walls you build yourself

She was unstoppable, not because she did not have failures or doubts, but because she continued on despite them.

Be the type of person you destined to be

True Light

If I believed in true light
That means I also believed in
the existence of false light
I decided to let it go
Light is light
Big or small
High or low
In any way, shape or form
No true or false

The same is to darkness
If we hate darkness
It is because we hate
Not because of darkness

Importance

Be careful not to assign yourself a place of importance above anyone else.  Be receptive to everyone, particularly those who may not routinely receive respect, such as the uneducated, homeless, or troubled members of our society.  Go to the "low places loathed by all men", and have an open mind when you're there.  Look for the Tao in everyone you encounter; and make a special effort to have acceptance, gentleness, and kindness course through you to others.

~ Wayne Dyer: Change your thoughts, change your life, living the wisdom of the Tao

What is an argument?
Two or more people express their opinions and those opinions differ.  Each person is so identified with the thoughts that make up their opinion, that those thoughts harden into mental positions which are invested with a sense of self.

~ Eckhart Tolle, a new earth.

Not being offended is a way of saying, “I have control over how I’m going to feel, and I choose to feel peaceful regardless of what I observe going on.  When you feel offended, you’re practicing judgment. You judge someone else to be stupid, insensitive, rude, arrogant, inconsiderate, or foolish, and then you find yourself upset and offended by their conduct.

What you may not realize is that when you judge another person, you do not define them. You define yourself as someone who needs to judge.

。。。

Now I know that we are all human: you, me, all of us. We do occasionally slip and retreat from our highest self into judgment, criticism, and condemnation, but this is not a rationale for choosing to practice that kind of interaction. I can only tell you that when I finally got it, and I sent only love to another of God’s children whom I had been judging and criticizing, I got the immediate result of inner contentment.

when you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

Religion

The greatest achievement of humanity is not its works of art, science, or technology, but the recognition of its own dysfunction, its own madness.
...
To recognize one's own insanity is, of course, the arising of sanity, the beginning of healing and transcendence.  A new dimension of consciousness had begun to emerge on the planet, a first tentative flowering.  Those rare individuals then spoke to their contemporaries.  They spoke of sin, of suffering, of delusion.  They said, "Look how you live.  See what you are doing, the suffering you create."  They then pointed to the possibility of awakening from the collective nightmare of "normal" human existence.  They showed the way.

The world was not yet ready for them, and yet they were a vital and necessary part of human awakening.  Inevitably, they were mostly misunderstood by their contemporaries, as well as by subsequent generations.  Their teachings, although both simple and powerful, became distorted and misinterpreted, in some cases even as they were recorded in writing by their disciples.  Over the centuries, many things were added that had nothing to do with the original teachings, but were reflections of a fundamental misunderstanding.  Some of the teachers were ridiculed, reviled, or killed;  others came to be worshiped as gods.  Teachings that pointed the way beyond the dysfunction of the human mind, the way out of collective insanity, were distorted and became themselves part of the insanity.

And so religions, to a larger extent, became divisive rather than unifying forces.  Instead of bringing about an ending of violence and hatred through a realization of the fundamental oneness of all life, they brought more violence and hatred, more divisions between people as well as between different religions and even within the same religion.  They became ideologies, belief system people could identify with and so use them to enhance their false sense of self.  Through them, they could make themselves "right" and others "wrong" and thus define their identity through their enemies, the "others", the "nonbelievers" or "wrong believers" who not infrequently they saw themselves justified in killing.  Man made "God" in his own image.  The eternal, the infinite, and unnameable was reduced to a mental idol that you had to believe in a worship as "my god" or "our god".

And yet... and yet... in spite of all the insane deeds perpetrated in the name of the religion, the Truth to which they point still shines at their core.  It still shines, however dimly, through layers upon layers of distortion and misinterpretation.  It is unlikely, however, that you will be able to perceive it there unless you have at least already had glimpses of that Truth within yourself.

...

What is arising now is not a new belief system, a new religion, spiritual ideology, or mythology.  We are coming to the end not only of mythologies but also of ideologies and belief systems.  The change goes deeper than the content of your mind, deeper than your thoughts.  In fact, at the heart of the new consciousness lies the transcendence of thought, the newfound ability of rising above thought, of realizing a dimension within yourself that is infinitely more vast than thought.  You then no longer derive your identity, your sense of who you are, from the incessant stream of thinking that in the old consciousness you take to be yourself.  What a liberation to realize that the "voice in my head" is not who I am.  Who I am then?  The one who sees that.  The awareness that is prior to thought, the space in which the thought -- or the emotion or sense perception -- happens.

Ego is no more than this: identification with form, which primarily means thought forms.  If evil has any reality -- and it has a relative, not an absolute, reality -- this is also its definition: complete identification with form -- physical forms, thought forms, emotional forms.  This results in total unawareness of my connectedness with the whole, my intrinsic oneness with every "other" as well as with the Source.  This forgetfulness is original sin, suffering, delusion.

...

"A new heaven" is the emergence of a transformed state of human consciousness, and "a new earth" is its reflection in the physical realm.  Since human life and human consciousness are intrinsically one with the life of the planet, as the old consciousness dissolves, there are bound to be synchronistic geographic and climatic natural upheavals in many parts of the planet, some of which we are already witnessing now.

~ A New Earth, Eckhart Tolle p.14- 16

About Ego

“The Ego is an exquisite instrument. Enjoy it, use it--just don't get lost in it.”

“In most of our human relationships, we spend much of our time reassuring one another that our costumes of identity are on straight.”

“As long as you have certain desires about how it ought to be you can't see how it is.”

“Only that in you which is me can hear what I'm saying.”

Manifest

Spirituality is not about manifesting what you want, it is about manifesting what you are.

I do not manifest what I want, I manifest who I am.

Kind

When you have a choice to be right or to be kind, always pick kind.
Living from your highest spiritual sense is the essence of what it means to be a self-actualized person.

Live so as to be detached from outcome.  Do it all because it resonates with your highest self and responds to your beseeching inner voice -- not because of rewards that might come your way.

If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself but to your own estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke at any time.

I can see clearly now裡讀到這一段:

The wake of a boat is nothing more than the trail that is left behind, and it has no power in the present. It does not and cannot drive the boat.  It is a trail that has no influence on the boat whatsoever.

Surrender

Certain areas of thoughts that tend to recur can be set aside and the feeling associated with them identified. The feeling can then be worked out with first accepting that it is there, without resisting it or condemning it. And then one begins to empty out the energy of the feeling directly by letting it be what it is until it runs out. Somewhat later, the fomer thoughts can be now looked at and their character will be observed to have changed. If the feeling has been totally surrender and let go, usually all the thoughts associated with it will have disappeared entirely and been replaced by a concluding thought which handles the matter quickly.

~ Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender

Freedom

"Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms--to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way"

On the new earth...

Knowing is in the air with every breath
The central sun is the new sun
It radiates a pure white light that brings consciousness to life
Consciousness is knowing and loving in the joy of creation

Ego diminishes
There is no need for protection, competition and control
All is transparent and open
Life lesson is personal yet universal
Pain and sorrow is a feeling, accepted and supported. In its own pace and time, will eventually converges into the richness of all life and bring the full circle of understanding.

The new earth is not somewhere out there, but right here right now, in our heart, in every moment that we live, in the way that we choose to respond to the world.

Suffering

The deepest pain..

The deepest pain is self-betrayal. By doing this exercise, students can feel their very early decision to not act upon the truth of who they are, not to acknowledge and live by who they are.  They can see that they made that decision time and time again throughout their lives, until it became an unconscious habit.  That is a regular part of their defense system.
...

The greatest challenge in life is to stay connected to and express the core of our being, no matter what circumstances we find ourselves in.
...
Illness comes from shrouding and disconnecting a part of ourselves from the core of our being.  As we disconnect, we forget who we really are and live our lives according to our mask, our lower self, and our defense system.  Healing is remembering who we truly are.  It is reconnecting to our core in the areas of our psyche where we have disconnected from it and living accordingly.

Mark

Overachiever

When Mark adressed us as Overachiever in the class
The word made me feel uneasy
Because it had touched on some truth in me that I did not like

I sensed that Mark wanted us to be the best that we are
But not aiming at achievement
Over achieving means doing too much to gain a certain approval status
only because we feel that we don't have it now
He wanted us to feel the wholeness of ourselves at any given moment
so that we can be in tune with the vibration of the universe that is whole
and everything else will fall into place

As an overachiever I always feel that I have not attained what I need to be
There is always a lack and therefore the need to go over
A good performer on the other hand is free to perform the best of himself
Much to excel in the creative flow but nothing to achieve
The universe did not ask as much of ourselves than we do to ourselves
All that it asked for us is to bath in the field of blessing
know that all is being taken care of
flow with it, allow all things to happen
and become the true self that we are

But how can I be whole and fully immerse in the field of blessing and bliss
when there is still pain, sorrow and incompleteness inside me and around me?
When the field of blessing closed in
I had no choice but to surrender
I realized, as whole it encompassed incompleteness, pain and sorrow too
When the weight was lifted
I found these wounds to be lessons that allowed me to grow and unfold

A challenge is always here to guide us and train us, not to defeat us
And blessing is always shinning upon us whether we realize it or not

Gershen Kaufman has written that "shame is a kind of soul murder." One of Ray's issue is the handling of shame.  Shame brings a numbness to our minds because it urshers in feelings of nonacceptance, of being no good and having no validity.  It may be so overpowering as to preclude any soul progress in a human mind that has shut down.  However, Ray is an unusually determined soul who, as we have seen, won't give up these hard lives for an occasional rest.  He grows stronger by building on each hard life.

~ Destiny of the soul.

Each life is a piece of fabric which makes up the whole tapestry of our existence.  If a family member or friend is harsh and uncompromising, or perhaps weak and emotionally distant toward us in life, we are only seeing an external portion of the entire true character of that soul.  Role assignments in life all have purpose.  If you grew up with a particularly difficult parent, as Ray did with Carl, ask yourself this question: What did I learn at the hands of this person that has given me wisdom I would not possess if he or she had never been in my life

~ Destiny of the soul, Michael Newton.
